By the end of this week, ALL classes should have completed Criterion A
& B, and ready to move on to Criterion C when we return next week (after the long weeknd). That means each of you need to have a clear idea of your plan! The first step in Criterion C is to create a detailed list of your steps for success (how you intend on completing your individual task). Along with the list, you will need to create a list of supplies/materials that you will need for your project (See notes below for individual classes). Make sure you come prepared to start your projects when we return!!!
6th grade- You will need to have a completed story idea (including a theme and culture, as well as drawings for the characters you wish to include in your story board. I will provide colored pencils and paper (in many different shapes and sizes to accomodate your specific design idea.
7th grade- You will need to have completed front, back and side drawings of your intended doll prototype. The first step in Criterion C is to create a 'logical plan' (list of steps or procedures you will need to follow in order to complete the task. Please work on gathering or resourcing your necessary materials you will need to make your doll unique. Bring those materials with you when you return next week!
Some examples...
fabric or recycled clothing, old dolls or stuffed animals, trim, buttons, beads, fur, yarn, specific colors of thread, paint and brushes, embroidery thread, felt or felted wool, zippers, stuffing, embellishmenst or decorative pieces.)
8th grade- You will need to have completed thumbnail sketches and practiced your chosen font(s) in your process jounral. Make sure to check your list of supplies and materials you created in Criterion C, This will help you to know what materials to source. (Examples: canvas, heavy duty paper used for wet mediums such as watercolor or paint, chalkboards, wood, etc.) Please make sure you have your materials with you when you return next week.
